Traveler's Corner: Southern Africa

My Wildland Adventure through Southern Africa was the true "trip of a lifetime". I am forever changed by this experience. This is what you hope for in visiting a "foreign" country:
that the experience touches you deeply in ways that raise your awareness and create the human connections that remind you no country and no people are "foreign".
We are all one people. Love is possible anywhere. All it takes is sharing a smile or a laugh, or trying to say "please" and "thank you" in someone else's language, or simply reaching out your arms to embrace someone you hardly know but recognize with your heart.

Irene Edwards - is a native "Tica" who enjoys sharing her intimate knowledge of Costa Rica to help travelers plan and coordinate their adventure. With four experts on our staff born in Costa Rica or who lived there, you won't find better expertise anywhere to plan your trip to Costa Rica.

Tim Hocking - You wouldn't be reading this Wild News or have the resource of our Wild Website without the expertise of our new IT Manager who brings his experience in technology and wilderness pursuits to international adventure travel.

 About Us
Bridging Communities and Cultures
Photographing and observing wildlife is exhilarating, hiking through dramatic landscapes awe-inspiring, and ambling among ancient sites is often beyond belief. But, it's the honest, heartfelt connections with local people that create the most meaningful experiences and lasting memories on a Wildland Adventure. Conde Nast Traveler Magazine recognized this by selecting us for their "Green List" because of our commitment to preserving natural habitats and contributing to local cultures while providing enriching travel experiences. We take you beyond the outdoors and into native communities that are worlds apart, but so much the same at heart. Our Maasailand Safari is an award-winning model for community-based safari tourism that explores the natural habitat of Africa in collaboration with and respect for the native Maasai who live there.

It's A Small World, So Plan Ahead!
The world seems to be getting smaller, especially in selected destinations where space is limited. It's become more difficult for some travelers to plan far in advance, and we've become really adept at helping make last minute arrangements. We find space you won't find on your own or through other companies, and we don't charge extra. But, last minute planners may get locked out, or not get preferred choices. Looking ahead through 2006/07, here are places you need to be booking now for the best rates and options:

The Inca Trail Trek in Peru- Limited by Permits
Holiday Season in Costa Rica
Christmas in the Galapagos Islands
East African Safaris this Summer and Fall
Antarctic Voyages 2006-2007
Family Trips - Christmas, Winter & Spring break
