Wildland Adventures Named The #1 Best Do-It-All Adventure Travel Company on Earth by National Geographic Adventure Magazine

SEATTLE, WA— National Geographic Adventure magazine rates the world’s best outfitters in the February, 2009 issue which is on newsstands now.  Wildland Adventures is rated the #1 Best Adventure Outfitter on Earth.  Of the five criteria used to judge the applicants: education, sustainability, client satisfaction, quality of service, and spirit of adventure, Wildland received their highest rankings in customer satisfaction: 98.33%, an astonishing feat.

Wildland Adventures Founder, Kurt Kutay states “A quarter of a century ago, we set out organizing adventure trips to share places in the world that we loved; to create the most memorable and meaningful experiences for our guests and their hosts that would also preserve the places and help the people we visited.  There is no higher honor or greater gratitude than to have our own travelers give us their highest rating for their experience in education, sustainability and service with Wildland Adventures.”

National Geographic Adventure Magazine set out to rate adventure travel providers in the most extensive and exhaustive way in 2007 with the first project of this size and scope, conducted by contributing editor, Costas Christ.  The first rankings were published in November, 2008.  Wildland Adventures achieved a number four ranking in that initial survey.  Moving to first place this year is the culmination of the company’s efforts to provide the best adventure experiences to their guests.

The featured trip chosen by National Geographic Adventure was Wildland’s new “Ethiopia: Travel Through a Land of Legends” because it is on the forefront of an emerging destination and it combines classic cultural experiences and sites with the amazing geographical diversity of Ethiopia including one of the most unique natural environments of Africa, hiking in the Simien Mountain range, the highest range in Africa.

Related to this recognition for education and sustainability, Wildland announces a new relationship with the non-profit Americans for UNFPA (United Nations Fund for Population Activities www.americansforunfpa.org) to operate educational fundraising trips to their program field sites. UNFPA is an international development agency that promotes the right of woman, and their families, to enjoy a life of health and equal opportunity. Americans for UNFPA is dedicated to building American support for the work of UNFPA in over 150 countries and to restoring the United States’ moral and financial contribution to the organization.
