WILDLAND ADVENTURES ANNOUNCES
GALAPAGOS FAMILY WILDLIFE ODYSSEY

Seattle, WA > The Galapagos Islands
are an awe-inspiring place where young
people can observe wildlife up close,
swim with cavorting sea lions, and snorkel
amongst marine iguanas and sea turtles,
while learning the basics of evolution
by first-hand observation. Wildland Adventures
brings kids, parents and grandparents
together on designated 11-day Galapagos
Family Wildlife Odyssey departures
to showcases the bizarre flora and fauna
that inhabit this volcanic archipelago
such as giant tortoise, sea lizards and
blue footed boobies.
The odyssey begins with a private half-day
city tour of colonial Quito, designated
by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. From
Quito, families embark on an eight day
voyage in the wake of Charles Darwin where
he formulated his theory of evolution
in The Origin of Species.
Vessels are outfitted with child-sized
snorkeling gear, wetsuits, and life vests.
Sea kayaks are available for fun exploration
of the shoreline. Naturalist guides provide
interpretation on shore excursions that
is oriented toward the interests and knowledge
level of young participants. Kids usually
dine together and appreciate specially
prepared meals including pizza, hot dogs,
pasta and other dishes geared toward younger
palates.
The Galapagos
Family Wildlife Odyssey starts at
$3,370 for adults and $1,920-$3,175 for
children under 12 years of age. School
groups or families of 6 or more can charter
their own yacht for a private departure.
