Join Wildland South America Program Director Kirsten Gardner this Saturday at Arista Wine Cellars in Edmonds for a wine tasting and slideshow on our Wines & Adventures: Mendoza and Northwest Argentina itinerary, an exclusive two week journey in March of 2013 which explores the wines, cultures and Andean landscapes of Mendoza, Salta and Juyjuy. This wine adventure will be escorted by Wildland founders Kurt and Anne Kutay and the owners of Arista Wine Cellars, David and Ruth Arista.
As you taste a collection of Malbecs, Torrontes and other Argentinian wines selected by Ruth and David, imagine yourself cycling through the verdant vineyards of Mendoza or hiking among the vibrant canyons and deserts of Juyjuy, brought to life with a collection of photographs Kirsten's scouting trip last fall.
When: Saturday, May 12, 1:00 - 4:30 PM Where: Arista Wine Cellars, 320 Fifth Avenue South, Ste A, Edmonds, WA Ph: 425-771-7009
Anyone who loves Malbec has heard of Mendoza but most North Americans are unfamiliar with Argentina’s Noroeste, home of the world’s highest vineyards and described by National Geographic Traveler as a “land of gaucho culture, sloping vineyards, verdant Andes foothills, and spectacularly striated canyons punctuated by towering cardón cactuses." Along the journey, you'll be accompanied by local expert guides that specialize in wine, culture and history. You'll have special access to small, family-owned bodegas, experience impromptu folk music performances, travel seldom-trodden mountain trails via horseback, and learn culinary secrets of the traditional cuisine from renowned chefs.
Space is limited to just 12 wine-loving guests and we expect this journey to sell out quickly. Even if you are unable to join us in Buenos Aires next March, we hope to see you on Saturday to share wine, talk travel and discover the diversity that is travel in Argentina!
