Fernando Garcia is originally from Venezuela where he started to explore and enjoy studying nature at age 7. Since then he has traveled and explored South America extensively by land and water. Fernando officially became a guide in 1989 and enjoy s sharing his love of biking, climbing, kayaking, trekking and all manner of active adventures with his guests. He has assisted film crews with different documentaries for National Geographic, Animal Planet, the History Channel, the Travel Channel and the Discovery Channel and has done field work for Cornell and Stanford Universities, as well as the Natural History Museum of Venezuela and the Botanical Gardens of Florida. When he isn't guiding, Fernando enjoys competing in adventure races. He is full of energy all time and always welcomes Wildland travelers with a big smile!

Christian Fuchs, our main kayaking guide for overnight trips to Saco de Mamangua is 38 years old, married and the father of two boys. He shares his passion for the outdoors both as a volunteer boy scout leader since and his work as an adventure travel guide where he has specialized in kayaking and trekking trips through Brazil since 1999. Christian loves all outdoor sports like kayaking, surfing, rock climbing, mountain biking, trekking, diving and sailing. He has degrees in engineering and tourism and is fluent in four languages (Portuguese, Spanish, German and English).
