Embiara Lodge

The most private wildlife viewing experience in all of the Pantanal, 4 room Embiara lodge is a family-run boutique safari lodge in Brazil’s South Pantanal. Wildlife viewing excursions are highly customized with just 8 travelers staying at the lodge at one time. Near the Rio Negro, the Eco Lodge consists of a main lodge with lounge, library and terrace, a separate dining area and three stand-alone guest chalets connected via raised wooden walkways. Two chalets are each nearly 900 sq feet each and include private, mosquito netted terraces, a comfortable sitting room, ceiling fans, and an A/C unit for the bedroom. A third larger chalet has two separate bedrooms that share an adjoined living room. There is also an air strip here so it is possible to fly to this lodge via small craft. Transfer time from Campo Grande is about 6 hours though the transfer itself is more like a full-day of wildlife viewing while en route. Horseback riding, boat trips, trekking, game drives, canoeing, and fishing are all options here.
