Remote and isolated, Lapa Rios Ecolodge offers endless wildlife viewing, exceptional service, fresh local cuisine, secluded beach, and a spectacular hilltop setting in a tropical paradise.
The 1,000 acre Lapa Rios Private Rain Forest Reserve is a wildlife corridor and protective barrier for Corcovado National Park. Supported by the Ecolodge, the reserve is home to thousands of species of trees, plants, birds (over 320 identified species), insects and mammals in Central America 's largest remaining tropical lowland forest. Uncrowded trails lead you through a rainforest wilderness with rivers, waterfalls and pools for swimming. Resident naturalist guides have years of experience guiding in the reserve, expertly pointing out the fascinating ways that animals and plants co-exist in the rain forest. Listen and watch for birds, rustling on the forest floor, or fruits falling as monkeys and parrots feed in the canopy above. Guests at Lapa Rios can also enjoy the beach and explore tide pools, visit the botanical gardens, unwind with a private massage, float in the cooling swimming pool, or spend the day relaxing and bird watching from their verandah.
