When you travel to Uganda on safari with Wildland Adventures, you help support the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International (DFGFI), an organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of gorillas and their habitats in Africa. They are committed to promoting continued research on the gorillas threatened ecosystems and education about their relevance to the world in which we live. In collaboration with government agencies and other international partners, they also provide assistance to local communities through education, training and economic development initiatives.
DFGFI supports monitoring and protecting mountain gorillas, collecting demographic, behavioral and environmental data in all three countries where mountain gorillas are found. The fund promotes public awareness of gorilla conservation on a local and international level. One of the most important projects DGFGI has sponsored is the training and equipment supply of rangers and trackers. These men benefit from your membership and their communities also prosper by preserving gorilla habitat to attract a thriving tourism enterprise.
The Travelers Conservation Trust [TCT] is an affiliate non-profit program of Wildland Adventures which gives our travelers the opportunity to support conservation and help indigenous communities at a local level worldwide.
