When you travel to Tanzania with Wildland Adventures, you help support Friends of Tanzanian Orphans, a grass-roots organization promoting orphans' health and education in Olasiti Village, Arusha Region,Tanzania.
The organization was started by a group of Americans who shared a life-altering cultural safari in Tanzania, where they learned about the needs of the one million orphans in Tanzania. Their vision is for each orphan to become a valued member of the Olasiti community: a person who has the tools to support himself and his family for a lifetime. Since its founding in 2005, FoTO has reached its initial objectives of providing a meal each day to drop-in children, establishing a community garden as a source of food, providing education for orphans, and starting sustainable small-scale businesses. The latest goal, construction of a real orphanage, with rooms for sleeping, cooking, eating, and studying for twelve children is in progress and nearing completion!
The Travelers Conservation Trust [TCT] is an affiliate non-profit program of Wildland Adventures which gives our travelers the opportunity to support conservation and help indigenous communities at a local level worldwide.
