Nestled on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta, Shinde is an intimate camp located on the edge of Shinde Lagoon. It has a multi-tiered dining room and lounge, set under canvas amongst the shade of ebony and mangosteen trees. Shinde comprises eight twin-bedded classic safari tents, built off the ground with hard wood floors each with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water and flush toilet. Accommodation is generally twin share on comfortable three quarter beds, however double accommodation is available on request. Each tent is strategically positioned to offer splendid views, whether across the Okavango Deltas mysterious waterways or open grasslands. The camp itself is broadly spread beneath leadwoord trees, with unusual multi-level public areas and around 12 pleasant tented rooms.
The Shinde Concession has numerous intermingling habitats making it a ripe wildlife area with boundless opportunities. A deepwater channel runs immediately in front of camp, offering excellent birding opportunities as well as a day time sanctuary for hippos and thirsty elephants. To the back of camp is broad grassland mixed with miombo and riparian forests which plays host to numerous species and thus offering superb wildlife sighting opportunities all year long by land or water.
