Footsteps Across The Delta

Experience one of the great, untamed regions of Africa with the elegance and eccentricity of the original “under canvas African safari”. The emphasis is on exploring the breathtakingly beautiful and diverse environment as did the first African explorers. Footsteps Across The Delta is a semi-permanent tented camp focused walking safaris within its private Shinde concession. The camp is intimate and caters to a maximum of 6 guests in three specially designed twin-bedded tents with sewn-in floors. Each tent has its own bucket shower and bush toilet, and even a daily laundry service. The 'bush chef' prepares menus to whet every appetite. Footsteps Across The Delta offers the highlights of a 'true safari' experience, where the emphasis is on exploration and discovery; each morning tracking fresh paw prints to reveal the night's events and locate animals in wild. Availability of other activities varies throughout the year and includes early morning or late afternoon game-drives, mokoro canoeing or fishing trips.

The Shinde Concession has numerous intermingling habitats making it a ripe wildlife area with boundless opportunities. Deep water channels offer excellent birding opportunities as well as a day time sanctuary for hippos and thirsty elephants. Broad grasslands mixed with miombo and riparian forests play host to numerous species and thus offering superb wildlife sighting opportunities all year long by land or water.
