Join a small group of specialized travel professionals working together in a dynamic ecotourism company to provide personal and responsive customer service designing international adventures that are life-changing experiences for travelers and host country communities. Wildland Adventures, Inc. is an award-winning ecotourism and adventure travel company specializing in worldwide cultural and natural history explorations for small groups, families, and individuals since 1986.

ADVENTURE TRAVEL PROGRAM DIRECTOR - FULL TIME

The Program Director is responsible for sales and administration of group and individual travel arrangements for designated destinations. Daily responsibilities include customer sales, client pre-departure services, operator communications, client account management, destination program development and sales collateral production.

Essential skills and qualifications for this position include experience in wholesale tour operations and administration and adventure travel field experience. A desireable candidate will be detail-oriented, well-organized, and posess a professional telephone presence. Also, applicants should be proficient with popular office software and be comfortable learning new proprietary software.

SUMMARY OF PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Destination Sales
  • Travel Program Development
    Develop itineraries and new travel experiences, design and edit documents and web
  • Pre-Departure Services
    Maintain client reservations database and client files, prepare pre-departure materials, confirm land services, and coordinate destination airline reservations as needed.
  • Client Accounts Payable and Receivable
    Enter all client charges, deposits/payables, and prepare operator payments

Wildland Adventures, Inc. is a growing adventure travel company specializing in active natural history and cultural trips to Africa, Central and South America, Alaska, Turkey and the Middle East, India and New Zealand. Rated by National Geographic Adventure Magazine as the “#1 Best Do-It-All” adventure company. Business hours are from 8:00AM to 5:30PM Monday-Friday.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Benefits: Major medical, travel, paid holidays and sick leave, vacations, optional bi-weekly 4-day work week.

The Wildland office is located in north Seattle with a spectacular view of Mt. Rainer, Lake Washington, and the Cascades. Program Directors travel an average of 2-4 weeks per year on educational trips to develop and maintain detailed destination knowledge for sales and program development expertise.
